This week’s reading was 💥💥💥💥!!!Time to share some thoughts on the book of Haggai in the comments! We’d love to hear from you. OR you can leave some emoji’s to let everyone know you got’er done. 💪🏻👊🏻🙌🏻
Here’s a couple from my reading this week:
Our lives can look very full & busy but spiritually our productivity is zilch… but we’re too caught up in ourselves to notice.
The ‘I Think, I feel, I want’ approach to life is destroying joy and Haggai reminds us that if we take a step back for a good look at what’s going on we’ll realize we’re not making any progress… working like crazy with nothing to show for it. It’s time to be transformed by the renewing of our minds and offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to whatever God thinks, whatever God wants.
“Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may be glorified, says the LORD.” Haggai 1:8
The answer to ANY question is ALWAYS what will give God pleasure and glorify Him. Do that. That’s your answer.
When God stirs your heart to obey Him for His glory He whispers encouraging things like this along our way so we don’t lose heart:
“Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.” 2:19
Remember in 1 Peter 2:5 we read that we are living stones? Well, Haggai is talking about it too. Those living stones are being called back to rest on their foundation, who is Christ. Place yourself back on His plan for you and be built up on Him.
It’s a waste of our time trying to prop up our little panelled houses and find fulfillment in our own plans & approach to life. Consider your ways and the outcome of what you’re doing. Is your focus your house, or God’s?
